GINKGO Leaf Design: PORCELAIN and Handmade Earrings- Nature Inspired (dangle/drop style)
This is a one-of-a-kind set, from my 22 KT Gold luster hand-glazed series. Each earring is individually crafted, by me; the ceramic glazes here create a unique, non-reproducible blend.
The white translucent glaze and the gold work well together. This pair is painterly, with some special color variations in the gold overglaze. I was having fun.
The metal elements are gold fill or gold-plated findings and wires I create with
One of a Kind. Handcrafted fine porcelain. Inc. 22 Karat gold hand painted glaze (two glaze firings)
Statement Piece!
STORY, ABOUT THE WORK and MY PROCESS:
These started from a walk in the fall in a neighborhood where a few green ginkgo trees there were just beginning to turn gold.
I collected some sprigs and leaves, and began working on designs using this theme.
Japan and other Asian countries have viewed ginkgo as a sacred tree and a symbol of resilience, health and longevity.
Porcelain is a high or mid-range fired natural clay made of superfine particles. It becomes translucent and glass-like. (Firings go over 2000 degrees Fahrenheit) It is not an easy material to work with, but I love the results!
Materials: Ceramic,Gold
Only 1 available
